A Waste of Time

Time management. It's something that I think everyone has trouble with. For instance, while I'm sitting here typing out the first draft of my blog post, the goat is screaming for his breakfast. My stomach's growling because I was to lazy to put something in it. I need to get something done other than sitting here wasting time. Well, I hate to break it to you: It's not wasting time. It's creating.
You may think that it's silly or useless to begin a craft or painting. You think that making art or writing down your thoughts is a complete waste of precious time. But it's important. Just ask Da Vinci, Van Gogh, or anyone else that has created something that the world loves. They would all say the same thing.
Creation is the very being of the human spirit. Everyone creates something, whether it be art, dancing, writing, music, building... I could go on and on. Creation is happening all around us, wherever we look. Sometimes it's just hard to find it. It's even harder to do it.
Well, look around you. Take a walk or a drive. Pay attention to whoever you come across. Watch the man on the street corner, playing his guitar and singing for the world to hear. See the painters swiping away at murals or even graffiti. Peer over fences and watch the sculptor chiseling away at his stone. Notice every sound, every sight that you see. Venture into your mind and wonder what is going on in theirs. See what they've done and think about what you would have.
Then go home. Go straight to a studio or desktop; take whatever supplies you have and make something. Gather everything you need and want and create something. Think about all you've seen today on your walk and implement the styles and different elements you saw. Don't try to copy, but use the things that you liked about the different people you watched.
And that's it. Take a look at your piece and enjoy it. Share it with somebody or even put it on social media. Try out different techniques and styles and keep exploring new areas of art.
I hope that this method works for you and helps you create the best things you can. I encourage you to be brave and do art with excitement and vigor. Thank you for reading and being supportive of this blog. Feel free to take a look at my other posts, or my Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/artbychloe/ Keep creating and stay positive!
